All of our playards come with a mattress which has been designed specifically for the playard. For the safety of your child, we do not recommend adding any aftermarket mattresses or soft buntings to playards. Unlike standard wooden cribs, playards sides are soft and an infant can suffocate in gaps that are created between an aftermarket mattress and the playard&#39;s fabric sides, or on soft bedding added to the playard. We side with AAP recommendations for creating a safe sleep environment; place the baby on his or her back on a firm sleep surface such as a crib or bassinet with a tight-fitting sheet, avoid the use of soft bedding, including crib bumpers, blankets, pillows and soft toys.
