Description
The Graco® Contender™ Slim Convertible Car Seat features 2 modes of use to grow with your child from rear-facing harness (5-40 lb) to forward-facing harness (26.5-65 lb), with a slim car seat design that helps save space in your back seat. This is the perfect travel car seat as its lightweight design easily transfers from car to car, and it is certified for aircraft use to help keep your child safe while flying. It easily grows with your child with the Simply Safe Adjust™ harness system, which allows the headrest and harness to adjust together in one motion. The included LATCH and easy-to-read level indicator help make installation easier. This car seat conveniently features a removable, dishwasher-safe cup holder, a machine-washable seat pad, and 2 recline positions for ease of use. The car seat is Graco® ProtectPlus Engineered™ to help protect in frontal, side, rear, and rollover crashes.

- CLEANING BUCKLE: Place in a cup of warm water and gently agitate the buckle. Press red button several times while in the water. Do not submerge the buckle strap. Do not use soap, detergents or lubricants.

Works for travel
We bought this as a second car seat to use for travel- airplane and rental cars. There was some beginner learning curve as with all car seats, but overall it was easy to slide the seatbelt through the bottom space on the airplane or in the car. The biggest issue was with the shoulder straps, they kept sliding off my son's shoulder's and when he fell asleep his head would hang forward a lot. it did not look comfortable. if you are looking for a lightweight car seat to have on hand, this is a great option. But it did not feel as safe/secure as other car seats.

Roomy and Easily Adjustable
This is a great seat! We upgraded from our Graco infant car seat because our little one was getting too tall for the old seat. It was extremely easy to install in our car and feels very secure even though our little one has a lot more room. It was straightforward to set the headrest to the appropriate position. I definitely wanted another Graco seat after how much we loved our infant car seat, and so far the new convertible seat does not disappoint!

Travel size but not flimsy
Bought this after realizing it costs more to rent one with a car on a 2 week trip, so might as well have a travel one on hand. Pleased with it's size, ease of installation and operation, and reasonable price

This car seat is so great we have two of them!
This car seat is so lightweight and easy to install, we first bought it for travel but now we use it as an everyday car seat. We like it so much we have one for each of our kiddos!

Has become our favorite car seat

Overall good seat
Purchased as a second seat for travel. Fit well on airplane seat without issue, easy to buckle/tighten/unbuckle. 4/5 because the clips for installing to anchors are really frustrating to use and get tightened appropriately, much more challenging than our usual seat (extend-2-fit). We have a tall kid we want to keep rear-facing as long as possible so would still purchase again.

Spacious but limited
I was surprised there are only two positions, just didn't read the description closely enough, I guess! We use this as a travel/grandparent's car seat so it isn't our every day car seat but I wish it had more recline settings/positions and a tab or way to keep the car seat straps off to the side before you put the child in. Overall it still seems comfy for our little one and much lighter than our day-to-day car seat.

Thank you for reaching out! For the Contender 65 the base is built in the product. If transferring for vehicle to vehicle you will have to uninstall and transfer entire product to alternate vehicle and reinstall. -The Graco Team

Thank you for reaching out to us with this great question! The infant inserts for the Contender&trade; Slim Convertible Car Seat should only be used while the seat is in rear-facing mode. The body support is required if your little one's shoulders are below the lowest harness setting. Once their shoulders are above the lowest harness position, the infant inserts may be removed if desired; however, that decision is ultimately up to your discretion based on your child's fit and comfort. There is no maximum weight limit for the infant inserts on this model. - The Graco Team
