The Graco® Contender™ Slim Convertible Car Seat features 2 modes of use to grow with your child from rear-facing harness (5-40 lb) to forward-facing harness (22-65 lb), with a slim car seat design that helps save space in your back seat. This is the perfect travel car seat as its lightweight design easily transfers from car to car, and it is certified for aircraft use to help keep your child safe while flying. It easily grows with your child with the Simply Safe Adjust™ harness system, which allows the headrest and harness to adjust together in one motion. The included LATCH and easy-to-read level indicator help make installation easier.   • CLEANING SEAT PAD: Machine wash pad in cold water with gentle soap on delicate cycle & drip dry. Do not use bleach
  • CLEANING BUCKLE: Place in a cup of warm water and gently agitate the buckle. Press red button several times while in the water. Do not submerge the buckle strap. Do not use soap, detergents or lubricants

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! We purchased this car seat a few months ago. This was our first time purchasing a graco car seat, we will not be purchasing another. This car seat feels cheaply made to begin with. Once we've tried to install it (Along with the fire department) the car seat feels like it cannot get tight enough. It is extremely wobbly. I can literally grab the back of the car seat with my child in it and flip the car seat over... I highly doubt that is supposed to happen. I have tried this on our other three car seats and none of them will do this. I never leave reviews but this car seat seems extremely unsafe. Sadly we missed the cut off to return it (our fault for not opening the car seat within the 30 days). Customer service employee was nice but not able to do anything to help outside of the 30 day return policy. Highly disappoint in Graco for not having a better policy for customers that felt unsafe with the first car seat purchased from them. Save yourself the headache and doubt, go for a better car seat.

This was easy to install, we have it rear facing at the moment and will turn it front facing when he is old enough. We can also remove it easily when we don't need it in the car. Our son and daughter-in-law approve of it also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I ordered this May 5, 2024 and got “shipping confirmation” on May 6, 2024. Only it never got picked up after showing a label was created and was never delivered. Finally, 3 weeks later after reaching out to them, Grace now says it was out of stock and that they will issue me a refund. No offer for sending an alternative color, etc. I have used Graco products for all of my kids, but have decided to change to a different brand after this experience unfortunately

It's super safe and easy to install, with a harness that's easy to adjust as your little princess grows. The fabric is soft and easy to clean, perfect for those messy moments. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Styrofoam under headrest I love everything about the car seat except my two-year-old granddaughter reaches under the head rest and picks up the Styrofoam and now I have to worry that she’s going to put pieces in her mouth. Every time I take her out of the car seat there’s pieces of Styrofoam all over. I’m gonna have to find a way to put some duct tape under there so she can’t pick at it otherwise the car seats very comfortable and easy to install

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "love this seat" -- someone who doesn't own a car Overall loving this seat! We do not own a car and I really didn't *want* to upgrade from the infant seat that is compatible with our stroller, but (1) baby didn't seem comfortable anymore at 80th percentile for height, and (2) we wanted a seat we could fly with and have her in her own plane seat as we knew she would NOT be a cooperative lap baby. Toooooo much of a wiggle worm. After a lot of research in Facebook groups for travelling parents of toddlers/babies, watching YouTube video reviews, and asking friends, we settled on the Graco Contender Go because it seemed like a good fit for a toddler with a long torso and short leggies, and we love how quickly adjustable it is -- considering we don't use it every day or even every week for that matter and did not want to have to rethread the harness to adjust the straps every time! It has some really amazing features for its price point, like on a plane the seatbelt won't run across the baby's back under the cover and just irritate her the whole time. Installation in rental cars has been SUPER quick and easy as well, which is a big plus! My only complaints so far: - the no rethread harness doesn't have a "track" to hold the main line of the harness (the one you loosen/tighten at the bottom of the seat every time when you get in and out) and so the first few times I put her in it, I thought I was crazy having one strap longer than the other! It's just because it's easy to pull it a little to the left or right (in my case, it was always the further strap from me that was longer) so just be careful to even up the straps before you go to tighten. - there's no side bike helmet padding to insulate her body further in a crash, but (1) ideally that never happens, (2) the head part IS fully insulated with bike helmet style padding and side crash tested, and (3) it's somewhat easy to mitigate that by installing the seat in the center. If you're using this in a car with multiple seats though where it will have to be on the outside, just something to consider! - it's a bulky seat compared to our infant one, but I guess that was to be expected. Given that we use it in rental cars, even in a "compact" car it hasn't been an issue fitting in rear facing, but a REALLY compact car might have issues holding this seat rear facing, (and then also see above, how is that gonna go in the event of a side impact). As for the warranty... we have not needed it and for a $100 car seat as it was, if I had my own car where the seat would be installed all the time, I would have skipped the warranty. However, we don't own a car and will be using this seat in rentals, Uber/lyfts, and airlines! So we wanted the added protection in case, in all of that moving around and being stored in between, it takes a tumble and we don't feel safe/can't use it anymore. Overall felt like a good choice for our needs but not everyone needs something like this. Hope we never need it either and it's just a frivolous purchase that makes me rethink all insurance later on. :)

It’s also a slim fit which I love because it doesn’t intrude into other seats in the back. My baby is in the 98% and he fits in it just fine, so I don’t feel like the slim fit takes space away from baby. 10/10

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable Chair but hard to latch. This is a very cozy good looking chair that my daughter loves when she's in it. Padding is very nice and, good quality chair. Love the ease of lifting the head rest as she gets older. However, the two downfalls i am having is the latches that attach it to your backseat are not seatbelt hooks where it clicks in like other car seats weve had. Its a latch so its easy to latch on but when trying to get it out it feels almost impossible to get out. My husband and i both tore our hands up trying to get this chair removed from the back seat. Also with those latches it never feels like you can get the seat tight enough where it doesnt move around. Wish i would have gotten a different car seat or return this one for another (probably too late) but, i do love Graco products and will continue to use them & would recommend Graco to my friends.

I like the way it will transition through the ages. Cup holders don't stay in place very well but other than that it's a recommended car seat. Always better if you can find it on sale ;-)

We travel a ton so we wanted something lightweight that would be easy to move between vehicles if necessary. If I was not traveling so much, I would maybe want something with more bells and whistles, but I am very happy with this car seat for this chapter of my life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can’t be installed safely with cars seat belt. Tip for buyers: Don’t throw away the box! You can’t return it without it and a box that size is expensive. I’m buying from Walmart or Amazon in the future. After carefully reading the instructions several times, I cannot get this car seat installed to where it won’t move around using the lap and shoulder belt of either my or my husbands car. It seems like it might work with the LATCH attachment or a lap only belt, but that’s not an option as per our cars owners manuals. I have put most of my weight on the seat and pulled as hard as I can but I can’t get it tight enough to not wiggle. Unfortunately I already threw away the box so I can’t sent it back. I will update this review if Graco customer service is able to help me get it installed safely, but as of now I cannot recommend this seat to anyone who needs to use a lap and shoulder belt for install. It surprises me that such a reputable brand is selling a seat that feels so unsafe.

The car seat is light and easy to transport. It is also easy to install in uber or cabs and rental vehicles. It is pretty sturdy but also comfortable. My daughter took 1-hr long naps without problem. Definitely recommend.
