A Solid Quality Carseat Without All The Bulk
I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We're using it with our 12 month old and are excited to have something that can grow with her all the way through the booster years. I love that the directions on how to transition into each new mode are included right on the seat itself so that it's an easy adjustment when the time comes. I think the storage pockets are a useful idea. We haven't had a need to put anything in them yet, but I can see where this would be beneficial as she gets older or for longer car trips. In fact, I really wish our 5 year old's booster seat had something like that as we have items for her that stay with her seat, such as her "sea bands" for car sickness and her sunglasses. If our baby was a pacifier user, I would definitely have a spare one in the pockets! The seat was a quick and easy install and our little one transitioned to the seat from her infant carrier with no problems. While we've only been using the seat for a couple of weeks, I definitely think we'll prefer this one over the one we used with our older daughter. I'm thrilled that we won't have to uninstall, change positions, and reinstall the shoulder harnesses every time she grows. Also, the ability to quickly remove the cushion for washing is a huge plus for me.

My new favorite car seat
Having multiple littles over the past decade, we’ve ran the gamut of car seats. Our biggest complaint about most of our all-in-one/post-infant car seats is how bulky they are. They’re heavy, they take up so much room, and are overall just cumbersome to deal with. When Stellar Product Testing Panel snet us the SlimFit LX, we were intrigued but didn’t expect that much of a difference. To say the least, we were pleasantly surprised.
Upon taking the seat out of the box, the first thing I noticed is how much lighter it was. It was super easy to install, however one thing that would make it easier (and that I enjoy on my other all-in-one seat) is the ratchet strap latch system. If that feature was added to this seat there would be no match.
We have used this seat on my 9 month and 3 year old. Both have no issues and it’s very easy to swap between their different settings.
Some car seats seem not to breathe well but so far my kiddos haven’t had any issues with getting hot in their seat.
Coincidently we had to switch to a smaller rental car right about the time we received this seat. Having to fit carpool kids and the little kids with their old seat would have probably meant that we lost a spot, but since this seat is much slimmer and the cupholders can be changed so they are flush with the seat, we were able to fit our small herd plus a few others with no issue.
This seat is a great option overall, but even more so if you’re already maxing out your cars interior space.

Slimfit LX review
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this car seat to try out and review.
It has some really nice features but I have overall rated it a 3 since I had an awful experience installing it in my car.
I installed it forward facing using the seatbelt and anchor tether on top and it took me a long time to do. I couldn't feed the seatbelt through the opening as the opening was too small for my hand. It was literally scraping my hand and I had to force my hand in and out to be able to pull the belt through. I have installed a bunch of car seats before and have never had such a difficult experience. It seems like the opening was made too small so you can't fit your hand in.
Otherwise my daughter loved the car seat and was very comfortable. I really liked the gray color and think it has a sleek look and design.
It has a great pocket storage that you can put stuff in for your kid while on the road.
The cup holders are good as well so you can take drinks with you.
It was also very easy to adjust the seat belt that your child straps into and my daughter was very comfortable after I made the necessary adjustments.

Comfortable lightweight seat that grows with baby
This carseat is wonderful. My daughter is 14 months old and while she still fits in her infant car seat, we were preparing to transition her to a convertible seat, and this one came along just in time. She is still rear-facing for now, but growing every day, and the 10 different headrest positions as well as 3 lower belt positions means it will continue to work with her at every stage. She now prefers this seat to her other infant car seat because even in the rear-facing positions, the sides are very low profile, enabling her to see more and observe more that goes on around her in the car. She is also getting increasingly better at handling her own sippy cup, so the dual cupholders are a must for cutting down how much we have to reach into the backseat to give her things or adjust what she can reach. The seat took about 2 minutes to install with the clips and was very compatible with our cars. She fell asleep in it easily while driving home from a family event over the weekend, and remained asleep for the entire rode home. One thing I will say that was potentially a less desirable change from our other infant seat is in the rear-facing position it is a little longer in length, giving less room between the carseat and the seat in front of it, but that makes sense considering it’s ability to grow taller with your child once they are forward-facing, so it isn’t really an issue in the longterm. The padding/upholstery is comfortable, so easy to take on and off, and is sectioned into a few smaller pieces so you can remove a piece to wash quickly and easily without having to take the whole seat apart. We love this seat and look forward to having it to grow alongside our family’s needs. I received this carseat as a part of a Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Positively surprised by the Slimfit LX
Thanks to Stellar panel for sending me the Graco Slimfit LX 3-in-1 Car Seat! I was very skeptical that I would be impressed with a car seat that packs so many seat options. I incorrectly assumed that such car seats need to cut corners to make it all work. Much to my surprise the Slimfit LX meets all my needs for each stage of the seat (rear and forward facing five-point & high back booster).
My wife and I have a fair amount of experience with different car seats that we have owned and rented while travelling with our two young daughters. We recently transitioned our soon to be five year old to a high back booster, so I mainly had our oldest daughter riding in the high back booster setting of the Slimfit LX. Also, our youngest daughter uses a separate Graco rear and forward facing five-point (that we purchased), and all those settings in the Slimfit LX met our expectations after a detailed inspection.
The transition from infant setting to high-back booster was rather simple; the storage compartment completely tucked all the harness pieces away, where the back padding sat flat over the closed compartment. I found the car installation process extremely easy. I installed it into a sedan, where the lower anchors and tether strap were easy to attach and tighten.
This car seat has one of the better shoulder belt guides on the headrest that I have seen (for booster setting), making it very difficult for the seat belt to slip out of alignment. The seat belt comfortably holds my daughter in place. It is easy to see she will continue to fit comfortably as she grows, where there is plenty of space for her growing legs and plenty of headrest settings as she gets taller. My daughter is most fond of the cup holders that spin open and close. The size has so far fit all her water bottles, and she enjoys having the holders on both sides so there is also place for her snack. I should also note that the padding is easy to remove for cleaning.
The only minor loss in functionality that I can see, is the seat does not have as many recline positions, at the rear and forward facing five-point settings, as our other Graco car seat. That said, I compared the settings available on the Slimfit LX and found it to align with the positions we most often use/used in a rear and forward facing five-point car seat. Thus, the Slimfit LX is an excellent option for someone looking to maintain a single car seat from starting at rear facing and eventually continuing through to a high back booster.

Space Saver without Skimping on Details
The Graco SlimFit LX Convertible Car seat is a fantastic option for any family- especially those with multiple car seat bound kids, or those tight on space! This specific car seat can accommodate kids from birth (5lbs or more) up to 100lbs (in booster mode). That’s a major factor to consider when budgeting for Littles.
Pros:
-Very comfy infant insert. Fabric is neutral, feels comfortable to touch and durable.
-ProtectPlus engineered to provide even more safety for your little one.
-Can be installed rear or forward facing based on weight.
-Can be installed using safety latches & cars latch system, or with a seat belt.
-Easy to read and adjust leveling system for infant rear facing install.
-Rapid Remove, machine washable cover- that is actually easy to remove!!! Can you say major bonus!!!
-10 position, non-rethread harness = HAPPY DANCE!
-Slim design that doesn’t skimp on space for your kiddo.
-Handy cup holders that can fold in when not in use.
-2 optional, easy to install, storage pockets for older kids to keep supplies handy. Can you say big bonus? Who doesn’t hold their breath trying to hand stuff back every 5 minutes while navigating traffic?!?
Cons:
-Since it’s a convertible car seat it can’t be removed regularly for transporting an infant like a standard infant car seat can.
-No built-in belt latch system to secure the seatbelt into the belt path in either rear or forward facing mode.
-Rear facing leveling device is only accessible from one side of the car seat making it tricky to read if you install it behind the driver side.
-Seat is composed of solid material with no mesh airflow channels to help cool any kiddos who run hot.
Overall- we definitely like the safety features and handy options that the Graco SlimFit LX offers and can’t wait to use it for our growing family. Once installed the car seat feels secure - leaving us feeling more secure about the safety of our little ones. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing our family with this great car seat!

Slim design and easy install
The Graco SlimFit LX has been fantastic from the moment it arrived on my doorstep. I first unboxed and watched the install video which was straightforward and extremely helpful. I easily installed it and buckled my son in for our first “test drive” of the product. He had been in a newborn seat until this point so it was fun to watch him experience the new seat and realize that he had more space to move his arms/legs and look around a bit more. My son is currently one year old, in a rear facing position, but I’m so excited that this seat will grow with him through the months and even years ahead. The seat itself is slim, just like the name says, which is great because I have a small crossover. We haven’t used the storage pockets all too much, but as he gets older I know they will come in very handy for snacks, toys, or whatever small items we need close by. What a cool extra feature! I also like the design of the cupholders. Instead of clunky plastic pieces falling off, these rotate right on the seat to either be “hidden” or usable. Coolest Car Seat
The Graco SlimFix LX has been a game changer for our car rides. The car seat is literally so plush and luxe, I want to buy an additional one so both of my boys have the same style car seat. I wish I had this car seat years ago, for my now 4 year old, instead of buying multiple seats as he has grown up. When we got the car seat out of the box to look at it inside and adjust the straps, my 1 year old literally climbed on it as soon as he could, and he is not the biggest fan of going into the car seat.
The car seat is super versatile! Having 3 in 1 functionality is so ingenious and makes having a growing child much easier. I really like that you can adjust the seat to what your child needs at that stage of their life. My son is still rear facing, and I like that the seat is made for rear facing up to 40 pounds, to keep him safer longer. He was rapidly growing to tall for his old seat, and this one has such a high back that I won’t have to worry about transitioning him to front facing for a significantly longer period.
I am always really nervous when I am installing a new seat, but this was so straight forward and easy to install. The best part of installation is that there is only 1 piece, you don’t have to worry about a base and then making sure the seat fits perfectly on top of the base. We used the latch system and sometimes I struggle and need help getting the tether tight enough, but I was able to do this by myself. It was such a quick process, and the level on the seat and the adjustable handle really came in handy and helped me to ensure that the seat was installed correctly.
After we installed the seat, we took our little guy on a ride to see how he liked his new seat. When we sat him in his seat, he was happy and smiling. Usually, when he gets into a car seat he shakes his head no and tries to climb out. This day was a much different experience and he genuinely seemed so happy and comfortable. The extra padding on the seat back is a nice added touch for extra comfort too. He was so comfortable that he actually fell asleep in the car (very rare occurrence). I like that the car seat comes with the optional storage pockets! We filled them with some small toys, some pacifiers, and a small pack of wipes. You can never have enough storage with a 1 year old! One of the features of this seat that I really like is the cup holder that you can open up!! I’m guessing that that will make it 100x easier to clean up when needed!
Since we have received this car seat, car rides have been happy occasions, and our family could not be more excited to go on many more car rides! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing our family with this car seat!
