What about all the extras? Here are some other products that will make your life with baby more convenient, more sanitary, from cribs and bassinets to activity centers and toys. Not to mention that basic childhood necessity, the training potty!
Activity Centers
Activity centers keep your baby in one place with a 360-degree "play tray" that wraps
all the way around and is designed to entertain, delight, and stimulate. In general, activity
centers feature soft and hard toys. The wider the variety of toys, the better:
look for mirrors, toys that create squeaks, rattles, and music to develop auditory skills, and
toys with beads that move to develop motor skills.

Activity center seats rock gently, which helps children learn balance. Some units offer bouncing
seats, and many units are convertible, which means that they open to allow a
toddler to use them, and many toys can be upgraded to meet your baby's changing play patterns.
Some activity centers are mobile to give your baby the ability to explore. We call them
Mobile Activity Centers and they come with wheels that allow babies to get around on foot-power.
Some mobile activity centers come with a play tray offering many features, including lights and
sounds, and some play trays are detachable. Mobile activity centers without play trays might instead include
attached toys which are bright and fun to play with, from beads to squeaking animals.
Your child is ready to use a Mobile Activity Center when they are able to sit unaided and be able to support most of his/her body weight with his/her legs (about 6 months old). You should supervise your little one whenever he or she is in the activity center.

Jumpers
Jumpers are baby seats with springs that attach to a doorframe and let your little
one bounce up and down. Look for wide straps to make getting in and
out easy. A high-back, quilted nylon seat will make your baby more comfortable.
The seat should be removable for easy cleaning, and should be height adjustable.
Some jumpers include bumpers to reduce wear and tear on your doorway.
A play tray can provide a place for toys and snacks.
Jumpers are for children who weigh no more than 25 lbs. They should be able to sit upright unaided, and can support most of his/her body weight with his/her legs. They should not be used after your child can walk. To securely install a jumper, you must have solid molding around your doorframe. Look for a spring-loaded, no-mar clamp that tightens on the doorframe as the baby bounces.

Training Potties
Learning how to use the potty is a big deal for little ones. That's why it's
good to buy a training potty several months before you start toilet training
your child and simply "place" it in the bathroom and not make a big deal about
it. You can explain what the potty is for when your child asks about
it-gradually your child will get used to the idea of using the potty as a
regular bathroom activity.
So...which potty is right? Check cushions for softness, thickness, and
durability. Your potty seat will see a lot of use. A topper can be moved to an
adult potty to make the transition to an adult toilet easier. The potty can
then turn into a stool that your child can use at tooth-brushing time or to get
up to the regular toilet. Some potties even come with award stickers to give
your child encouragement.

Finally, a folding potty seat can be taken along when you go out-use it with a
regular toilet, providing a sanitary way to help your little one stay balanced.
